The
artist was an apprentice to the legendary photographer Tom Blau. He later
worked with Jeff Vickers and developed his celebrity contacts. Establishing
himself by working with Marianne Faithful, he made contact with the Rolling
Stones, accompanying them on their record breaking US tour in 1965, later
becoming their official photographer. Through the sixties, he continued
working in the music world with artists such as Jimi Hendrix. He exhibited
at the Photographer's gallery with huge success in 1982. In 1991 he collaborated
with designer David Costa to form Icon, Ltd. Their first major project
was Jimi Hendrix followed by the Rolling Stones on the Voodoo Lounge Tour.
The artist has several images in the Icons of Pop exhibition, originally
at the National Portrait Gallery, London, currently on tour in the UK |
